ATV overturns in Saline County

A Marshall man was injured after overturning an ATV in Saline County on Wednesday.

Gerald L. Faris, 79, was driving the vehicle in a field at 10:36 a.m. in the 17000 block of Route YY when it overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Faris wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered moderate injuries. The Saline County Ambulance District took him to Columbia for treatment at University of Missouri Hospital.

Five hurt in rear-end collision

A rear-end collision in Moniteau County left five people injured at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday.

Tabitha A. Patterson, 30, of Rocky Mount, struck the rear of a slow-moving car driven by Patrick K. Dubois, of Tipton, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Patterson and John D. Wixom, 37, of Rocky Mount, suffered serious injuries. Neither was wearing seat belt during the collision. Two children in their vehicle, Joshua M. Riner, 8, and Michaela E. Riner, 12, both of Rocky Mount, were wearing seat belts and had moderate injuries.

The Mid-MO Ambulance District took all four to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City. Dubois, who had been wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
