Warsaw woman hurt in crash

A Warsaw woman suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 5 a.m. Wednesday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jessica M. Slaughter, 34, was driving north on state Route BB north of Hare Drive when she struck a deer in the road. Her vehicle then traveled off the road and overturned.

Slaughter, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Man injured in accident

A Warrensburg man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6 a.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cody L. Smith, 39, was driving north on state Route 131 at Northwest 738th Road when his vehicle struck a deer in the road. His vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Two injured in Johnson County

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mackenzie K. Hill, 23, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50 just west of Knob Noster city limits when she struck the rear of a road grader driven by Kenneth E. Edwards, 53, of Chilhowee. Hill’s vehicle overturned.

Hill was treated at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for moderate injuries. Wyatt Hill, an infant in Hill’s vehicle, was also treated at WMMC for minor injuries.

Reports indicate everyone involved was using a safety device.
