Woman arrested in DWI accident 

A Hughesville woman was arrested after crashing her vehicle at 10:50 p.m. Friday in Pettis County. 

Amanda N. Randall, 26, was southbound on U.S. Route 65 north of Flat Creek Bridge when she traveled off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle came to rest facing east in the southbound lanes of the highway. 

Randall was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. The Pettis County Ambulance District took her to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. 

Before releasing her for medical treatment, troopers arrested Randall on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to a highway patrol arrest report. 

Sedalian killed in Cole County 

A Sedalia man was killed in a two-car wreck at 6:39 p.m. Saturday in Cole County. 

Michael D. Poindexter, 49, was driving a motorcycle west on U.S. Route 50 when another car pulled into his path, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Kin Darius M. Patterson, 21, of Jefferson City, was attempting to cross U.S. 50 on Lookout Trail when he drove in front of Poindexter’s vehicle.

Poindexter, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, struck Patterson’s car and was ejected. Dr. Carl Doerhoff pronounced Poindexter dead at the scene. Patterson had minor injuries but refused medical treatment. 

Vehicle strikes deer 

A passenger was hurt as a vehicle struck a deer on a Henry County highway at 7:50 p.m. Saturday. 

Christi N. Mercer, 39, of Knob Noster, was riding in a vehicle traveling north on state Route 13, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The driver, Steven L. Mercer, 38, of Knob Noster, struck the deer south of Northwest 1300th Road. 

Christi Mercer was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. The Johnson County Ambulance District took her to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Two collide in intersection 

An intersection in Johnson County was host to a two-vehicle collision at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. 

Wesley W. Kentch, 63, of Knob Noster, was crossing Route Y on southbound Southeast 251st Road when a westbound vehicle began to slide toward him, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. 

Kelly L. Williams, 32, of Knob Noster, slid into Kentch’s truck and sustained minor injuries. Kentch, who was unhurt, came to a rest south of Route Y while Williams stopped in the westbound lanes of the highway. 

Both drivers were wearing a seat belt during the accident. The Johnson County Ambulance District took Williams to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. 

DWI arrest follows ATV crash

An ATV overturned at 5:50 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County, injuring two people. 

The crash occurred as Jeffrey T. Halterman, 57, of Warsaw, lost control of the ATV while driving it on Northeast 600th Road at Route MM, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. As the ATV overturned, it partially ejected Halterman and fully ejected a passenger, Roxane Cox, 55, of Lee’s Summit. 

Halterman had moderate injuries, and Cox suffered serious injuries. Both went by ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Before he was released for medical care, troopers placed Halterman under arrest on charges of felony driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license, according to a highway patrol arrest report.
