Sedalian overturns in Benton County

A Sedalia man is in serious condition after his motorcycle overturned at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Benton County.

Larry R. Milks, 65, was driving west on Route C when he traveled off the right side of the roadway at Northwest 611th Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He returned to the roadway and overturned, ejecting from his motorcycle.

Milks was wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries. An ambulance took him to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

Benton crash injures one

A driver from Windsor was hurt in a single-vehicle crash Sunday in Benton County.

At 8:15 a.m., Zachary A. Johnson, 21, was southbound on Route E when he traveled off the right side of the roadway 2 miles north of Route HH, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Johnson returned to the roadway and overturned. His vehicle continued off the right side of the roadway before coming to rest.

Johnson, who was wearing a seat belt, received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.

Three injured in rear-end collision

A rear-end collision left three people with injuries at 3:12 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

Craig A. Dewitt, 21, of Warsaw, was westbound on U.S. Route 50 when he overtook and struck a truck in front of him 550 feet east of Route P, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He traveled off the left side of the highway and came to a rest in the median.

The driver who was struck, Randy L. Rittman, 60, of Knob Noster, was unhurt in the accident.

Dewitt and two passengers suffered moderate injuries. Although he was wearing a seat belt, neither Mary J. Porter, 20, nor Charlie J. Sprinkle, 20, both of Edwards, were buckled in the car.

The Johnson County Ambulance District took all three to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
