Pamela K. Ricketts, 43, of Urich, was southbound on state Route 7 when she traveled off the right side of the roadway north of Northwest 401st Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle continued down an embankment and struck a concrete culvert.

Two hurt in rear-end collision

Two vehicles collided in Johnson County at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, causing injuries to both drivers.

Walter A. Farwell, 50, of Warrensburg, was stopped in traffic on Route DD west of state Route 23 when the accident occurred, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Erica S. Cousins, 39, of Warrensburg, was driving east behind Farwell when she crested a hill and slowed, attempting to avoid impact. She struck the rear of Farwell’s vehicle and came to a rest blocking both lanes of Route DD. Farwell’s vehicle came to a rest off the south side of the roadway.

Both drivers were wearing a seat belt during the collision. Cousins had minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. The Johnson County Ambulance District took Farwell to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
