Branson man crashes in Henry County

A Branson man was injured while avoiding a deer in Henry County on Thursday.

At 12:35 p.m., Kenneth P. Sullivan, 40, was driving south on Route D a mile north of Route 2 when he swerved to avoid the deer, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

He traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the road and overturned into the ditch off the left side.

Sullivan was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. He received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Man arrested in DWI crash

A man was arrested following an injury crash at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Moniteau County.

Dalton R. Kirchoff, 22, of California, was driving north on Route O north of Palestine Road when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

He struck a tree before his vehicle came to rest in a creek. Kirchoff was wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries.

Troopers placed him under arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

He was released for medical treatment as the Mid-MO Ambulance District took him to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

Two wounded in Moniteau accident

Two drivers were hurt as their vehicles collided at 2:13 p.m. Thursday in Moniteau County.

Brenda K. Kim, 56, of Columbia, lost control of her towed unit and crossed the center of the road while traveling north on Route 179 north of Triple S Lane, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

She traveled off the left side of the road, and a southbound vehicle struck her. Kim and the southbound driver, Mark D. Friedrich, 59, of Wooldridge, sustained minor injuries.

Both went to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Kim by ambulance and Friedrich by private conveyance.
