Police Reports April 9

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department 

April 6 

2:09 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of West Saline Street and Robinson Court. An investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. Rachel L. Moore, 47, of Marshall, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. 

11:24 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. An investigation revealed an occupant had an active warrant out of Pettis County. A search revealed they also were in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Gary G. Brown Jr., 49, of the 1000 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested for the warrant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. 

11:42 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 11th Street in reference to a possible burglary. After clearing the residence officers found several containers of marijuana in plain view. The homeowners responded and an investigation led to Frankie E. Ray, 28, and Cary J. Howerton Jr., 36, of the 500 block of East 11th Street, being arrested for charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

April 7

3:26 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 300 block of South Engineer Avenue for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, it was found the victim laid his wallet on the counter and another patron took it back to the victim’s residence. The victim had about $220 in the wallet when it was laid down but when it was returned it contained no money. Video evidence led the officers to Stevens W. Bailey, 37, of the 1300 block of Seventh Street, who admitted to stealing the money. He was arrested for stealing. 

7:46 p.m.: Officers responded to the 4200 block of West Main Street in reference to a subject check. A witness saw the subject stumble out of a business in the 1900 block of West Main Street, get into his vehicle, and drive away. Officers located a vehicle that matched the description in a parking lot with the subject. Officers attempted to conduct field sobriety tests. Victoriano Sevastian-Felipe, 26, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and a warrant. 

Incidents

April 5

4:12 p.m.: Officers responded to a pharmacy in the 1700 block of South Ingram Avenue for a fraudulent prescription. An investigation revealed the suspect’s prescriptions were from a physician out of town, but they were fraudulent. One of the prescriptions was for a controlled substance. Officers contacted other pharmacies and discovered the individual brought the same fraudulent prescriptions to four other pharmacies. A suspect and vehicle description was obtained. 

April 8

3:17 a.m.: Officers responded to a business alarm in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Dispatch said the business confirmed the building had been entered. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front door was broken and the suspects had fled the area. Management found several items, valued at $2,583, had been taken from the shelves.

April 5

12:12 p.m.: Michael R. Fritchey, 36, of Clinton, was arrested in Benton County for a felony warrant out of Benton County, driving while suspended, plate violation, and no seat belt. 

7:07 p.m.: Chad J. Busick, 30, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County for five felony warrants out of Henry County, felony driving with a revoked license, displayed plates of another, and no seat belt. 

April 6

2:12 a.m.: Ryan N. Baldwin, 28, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. 

2:37 a.m.: Michael A. Bockhahn, 19, of Lee’s Summit, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession with intent to distribute, felony possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated (combined drug and alcohol), misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, minor visibility intoxicated, speeding, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. 

3:08 a.m.: Joseph L. Casdorph, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, expired registration, and no insurance. 

2:15 p.m.: Robert F. Newman, 36, of Barnett, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while revoked and no insurance. 

8:12 p.m.: Anthony E. Reed, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. 

9:42 p.m.: John S. Ayers, 57, of Tipton, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving. 

April 8

12:14 a.m.: Jeremiah J. Benn, 36, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated.
