This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 29

8:05 a.m.: Thomas I. Miller, 31, of the 800 block of South Barrett Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. An officer stopped Miller’s vehicle on South Park Avenue at West 16th Street for having an expired back license plate and no front plate. During the stop, he detected the odor of marijuana. A search of Miller’s person reportedly revealed he was in possession of marijuana, and the officer took him into custody.

4 p.m.: Sarah K. Bartlett, 28, of the 1700 block of South Quincy Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of assault. An officer responded to Bartlett’s residence in reference to a report of an assault. He met with the complainant, who said she had gotten into an argument with Bartlett. She said Bartlett pushed her down and hit her in the face during the argument. Bartlett had left the residence before the officer’s arrival, but he made contact with her a short time later. She claimed the complainant had pushed her first and she was acting in self-defense. The officer issued her a municipal court summons.

Nov. 29

9:15 p.m.: An officer took a report in the police station lobby of a sexual assault that occurred near East Sixth Street and South New York Avenue. A suspect has been identified, and an investigation is ongoing.

Arrests

Nov. 28

2:40 a.m.: Gary D. Horn was arrested on a charge of third-degree assault. Deputies responded to the 1300 block of East Boonville Road in reference to a reported disturbance. During the investigation, they took Horn into custody and arrested Angie M. Steeves for a warrant from the City of Sedalia.

Arrests

Dec. 1

12:40 a.m.: Bradley R. Wojcik, 24, of Barnett, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

2:20 a.m.: Fredy Rojo, 29, of North Charleston, South Carolina, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license.

4:30 p.m.: Ryan D. MaGee, 41, of Springfield, was arrested in Henry County on a charge of driving with a revoked license. Troopers also served a Johnson County misdemeanor warrant.

Dec. 2

12:45 a.m.: Dalton P. Smith, 22, of Harrisonville, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Dec. 3

11:55 a.m.: Jordan L. Godfroy, 35, of Lebanon, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of felony resisting arrest, failure to display valid license plates, failure to register a vehicle annually with the Department of Revenue and not wearing a seat belt. Troopers also served a Wright County felony probation violation warrant.
