This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Nov. 30

2:10 a.m.: Julie Gayle Pierson, 47, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of first-degree trespassing. An officer performed a subject check at the post office. While patrolling the area he noticed Pierson was inside the lobby area and conducted a computer check of her name. Dispatch advised Pierson had an active trespass warning for the post office.

12:05 p.m.: Andre L. Marsh, 27, of the 300 block of East Cooper Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Officers observed Marsh driving north on North Washington Avenue with expired license plates. Marsh reportedly saw the police and attempted to elude them by driving into an alleyway. He stopped in the middle of the alley and ran into a residence in the 300 block of East Cooper Street. Officers made contact with Marsh and arrested him on a charge of driving while suspended.

5:10 p.m.: Andre L. Marsh, 27, of the 300 block of East Cooper Street, was arrested on charges of felony second-degree assault, driving with a suspended license and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers were alerted to a subject who reportedly pulled a weapon on occupants of a vehicle. The complainants said they were traveling west on West Main Street at Quincy Avenue when a red pickup pulled in front of them, causing them to stop. They said the driver of the red truck got out and started walking toward them with what looked like a gun in his hand. The complainants drove around the passenger side of the truck, and the subject followed. They lost him in the 2500 block of West Main Street and called the police. Officers located the suspect after identifying him as Marsh. They recovered a lighter that looked like a handgun.

7:50 p.m.: Jesse R. Roberts, 31, of Mora, received a municipal court summons for a charge of possession of marijuana. An officer stopped a vehicle with a headlight out on West 32nd Street near South Park Avenue. He searched the vehicle after he detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside. The officer reportedly found marijuana and issued a court summons.

9:15 p.m.: Reggie E. Townsend, 56, of the 400 block of East Jackson Street, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue. An officer arrested Townsend after stopping his vehicle for expired registration on West Third Street west of South Grand Avenue.

9:15 p.m.: Samuel J. Seales, 32, of the 21000 block of Route 50, received a municipal court summons for a charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The complainants said Seales stole several items from the store, worth $73.25 in total, and placed them in a box he had paid for. They said he then attempted to leave the store before employees stopped him. Seales reportedly told the officer he had stolen the items. He had no prior convictions of stealing, so the officer released him with a municipal court summons.

9:25 p.m.: Eric L. Swigert, 30, of the 1700 block of South Marvin Avenue, was arrested on charges of felony resisting arrest and misdemeanor identity theft. An officer was dispatched to the 2300 block of East Broadway Boulevard on a call of a possible wanted person. The caller said Swigert, who had active arrest warrants, was going to come to the location. Dispatchers checked his information and found he had a failure to appear warrant from Pettis County and a probation and parole violation warrant. After officers made contact with Swigert, he reportedly fled through a back door of the residence. They arrested him after a short foot pursuit.

Dec. 1

8 a.m.: Seth I. Woolery, 22, of the 2600 block of Dogwood Court, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. An officer made contact with Woolery, who was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the area of East 16th Street and South New York Avenue. He saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the car. The officer arrested Woolery after searching his vehicle and later released him at the scene.

12:50 p.m.: Shadow L. Huggins, 24, of the 300 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers spoke with Huggins at West Seventh Street and South Kentucky Avenue. During the stop, they learned he had an active Pettis County failure to appear warrant. While taking him into custody, they located a small amount of marijuana on his person.

6:55 p.m.: Jesse R. Smith, 51, of the 600 block of East 18th Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault and first-degree trespassing. Officers responded to the 100 block of East 16th Street in reference to a trespassing report. During the investigation, they learned the suspect, Smith, had previously received a trespass warning for that location. While trespassing, Smith also reportedly grabbed a clerk’s wrist and twisted it. Officers located him later in the evening and took him into custody.

7:35 p.m.: Jason R. Noble, 54, of Knob Noster, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer was dispatched to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Dispatch reported one of the drivers, Noble, had a suspended license.

9:50 p.m.: Jonathan M. Rockett, 22, of Smithton, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of felony leaving the scene of a crash, driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid license and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
