This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 6

12:50 a.m.: Joshua L. Costlow, 41, of Concordia, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. A complainant made a report of a pickup truck that was unable to stay in its lane while traveling north on South Limit Avenue from West 32nd Street. The caller relayed the vehicle was traveling down the center of Limit Avenue, and the driver was getting ready to turn left onto West 16th Street. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Thompson Boulevard and 16th Street for improper lane usage. The driver, Costlow, consented to a search of his vehicle and person. The search reportedly revealed drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 11

11:55 p.m.: Sean William Cunningham, 38, of the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers arrested Cunningham for a Benton County warrant in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard. A search after the arrest reportedly showed he was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Dec. 12

2 p.m.: Joshua J. Mabrey, 38, of the 2200 block of West First Terrace, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license. An officer followed Mabrey’s vehicle and ran the license plate through a computer check. The search showed the registered owner had a revoked license. The officer stopped the vehicle at West Broadway Boulevard and South Carr Avenue, and dispatch confirmed Mabrey’s revoked status.

12:20 p.m.: Virgil LeHarris Taylor, 40, of the 500 block of North Missouri Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute and ATV on a roadway. An officer conducted a vehicle check on a yellow four-wheeler ATV on the roadway in the area of West Third Street and South Missouri Avenue. The officer identified the driver, Taylor, through dispatch. The officer wrote a traffic offense citation and attempted a frisk as Taylor became unruly. Taylor became more aggressive, and the officer placed him under arrest. A search after the arrest reportedly revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Incident

Dec. 11

8:15 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant said an employee took a work vehicle without permission the day before and abandoned it in Windsor. The complainant located the vehicle and had it towed back to Sedalia. He estimated damage to the vehicle to cost $8,000. At the time of the report, the officer identified two suspects who hadn’t been located for questioning.

4 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3300 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle that had been recovered. An employee said someone took one of the vehicles from the lot sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon. The business was able to locate the vehicle outside city limits with GPS tracking and towed it back to the lot. The vehicle, which had an estimated value of $4,800, had damage to a tire and to the interior. The officer had no suspects at the time of the report.

Dec. 12

2:50 p.m.: A business reported failure to return rental property. A known person had failed to return a motor vehicle to the business as an agreement had stated. An officer is submitting charges against the suspect to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office.

3:05 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of West 32nd Street and Quisenberry Road for a report of a located stolen vehicle. The complainant said they had a vehicle stolen from their parking lot. The complainant later located the vehicle on the side of the road at West 32nd Street and Quisenberry Road. It appeared as if the suspect attempted to take the tires and rims off the vehicle.

Dec. 13

12:10 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a report of gunshots in the area of East Seventh Street and South New York Avenue. An investigation revealed two parties had exchanged gunfire, and one occupant of a vehicle had been injured. The individual received treatment at Bothwell Regional Health Center. An investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 12

11 a.m.: Tina M. Noe, 49, of Valdosta, Georgia, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony delivery of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

9:15 p.m.: Ashton N. Case, 24, of Wheatland, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony possession of heroin and driving while intoxicated.

Dec. 13

10:50 a.m.: Travis L. Hartin, 35, of Kennesaw, Georgia, was arrested in Saline County on a felony charge of possession of marijuana.
