This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 11

12:01 p.m.: Christopher William Crouch, 46, of the 300 block of Second Street, was arrested in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue on a charge of third-degree elder abuse. Officers responded to a motel for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect and victim. After the investigation, the suspect was arrested and the victim was referred to senior services.

3:54 p.m.: Nathan Wayne Green, 28, of the 1200 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested int he 900 block of West Fourth Street on a charge of driving with a revoked license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle using its windshield wipers without headlights. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver informed the officer of his driving status.

6:32 p.m.: Michael L. Blanks, 29, of the 1800 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of second-degree domestic assault. Officers responded to a disturbance. It was discovered two residents got into a physical altercation. Officers were able to determine the primary aggressor and arrested him. The other was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

Feb. 13

12:50 a.m.: Wesley Cole Bradley, 25, of the 1200 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of second-degree domestic assault. Officers responded to a disturbance. Three subjects were involved and one was determined to be the primary aggressor. 

3:29 p.m.: Csena Dove Silkwood, 28, of the 1700 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of North Engineer Avenue and East Howard Street on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle failing to stop for a school bus with the stop sign displayed. The driver was found to be on Missouri Probation and Parole for drug-related offenses and consent to search the vehicle was granted. Pills were found that were later determined to be a prescribed controlled substance not prescribed to Silkwood.

2:57 p.m.: Travis L. Davis, 30, address unknown, was arrested in the 400 block of Buckner Court on charges of two counts of kidnapping, first-degree domestic assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and felony resisting arrest. A warrant was also served. Around 12:56 p.m., officers learned information about Davis, who had a no-bond parole violation warrant, being at Buckner Court. Officers attempted contact with the suspect, who barricaded himself in a bedroom with a child and a female subject. He threatened to kill them with a gun. After officer negotiations, the two subjects were released and Davis was arrested.

Feb. 14

1:10 a.m.: Jordan R. Durland, 18, of Lincoln, was issued a municipal court summons in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to a business for a subject check. The caller said a subject came into the business and appeared to be stabbed or shot and left in a vehicle prior to officer arrival. The vehicle was located shortly after and the incident was discovered to be a prank. During a search of the vehicle, marijuana, a grinder and a bubbler were located. A passenger admitted to owning all of the items.

5:03 a.m.: Alan T. Saxton, 30, of the 800 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested in the 1100 block of East Sixth Street on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault. A Pettis County warrant was also served. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed a male and female got into a fight over a cellphone. The male was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested.

10:54 p.m.: Kiara Renee Willis, 17, of the 1800 block of South Lafayette Avenue, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on charges of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree trespassing, and stealing. A theft was reported at a business. The suspect had been warned of trespassing on the property and was later arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Feb. 15

1:09 p.m.: Eric Sean Archibeque, 32, of the 4300 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance. Officers responded to a traffic accident and during the investigation, it was discovered one of the drivers had a suspended license.

Feb. 16

4:59 p.m.: Jennie Lee Schwermer, 36, of the 3100 block of Oak Brook Circle, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of an illegal weapon. A failure to appear warrant was also served. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle that failed to signal a turn. The officer learned the driver had a warrant and smelled the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. During a search, the officer found a white crystallized substance in the driver’s purse that he recognized as methamphetamine. Schwermer was also in possession of an illegal weapon (non-firearm).

Feb. 17

12:52 p.m.: Tyler Kenneth Dake, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard on charges of first-degree tampering with a vehicle, stealing and fourth-degree assault. Officers were dispatched to the Thompson Hills Shopping Center in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was discovered a suspect had attempted to steal a van from a business before being confronted by the owner. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was followed by the owner. The suspect then assaulted the owner before being detained by witnesses.

Incidents

Feb. 11

11:37 a.m.: A report was made in the SPD lobby of a domestic disturbance. The victim said her estranged husband recently made several threats toward her. She stated today he attempted to confront her in the parking lot of her workplace. She attempted to get away and while doing so he struck her vehicle with his, causing damage. She left the lot and he again collided with her at a nearby intersection. She was then able to get away and come to SPD. An officer unsuccessfully attempted to contact the suspect. A charge of fourth-degree domestic assault is being requested.

Feb. 14

7 a.m.: Several items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a residence’s driveway in the 2400 block of Stacey Lane between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and 7 a.m. Feb. 14. The estimated value of the missing items is more than $800.

Feb. 15

12:42 p.m.: An officer responded to the 500 block of West Seventh Street for a report of a robbery. He met with the victim who said her boyfriend came into the house, punched her in the face and took her phone. Charges are being sought for third-degree domestic assault and second-degree robbery.

Feb. 16

10:02 a.m.: Officers responded to a hotel in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft complaint. The victim said he had two handguns and a large amount of money stolen from inside his truck. After viewing video footage from the business, a suspect was identified. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect but the person had already left. The person who rented the room consented to a search. The stolen property was not recovered but a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia was found. The renter of the room was arrested on unrelated municipal warrants. Charges are being submitted against the suspect for stealing from a vehicle, unlawful possession of a concealable weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 17

7:28 a.m.: Three mailboxes in the 1000 block of East 24th Street were run over by a vehicle. All three were destroyed and the event appeared to be intentional.

3:43 p.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street at the request of the Sedalia Fire Department. Upon arrival it was determined the suspect had started a fire inside a multi-unit residence, which filled other parts of the building with smoke, leading to SFD being called to investigate smoke. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival but charges are being submitted for failure to obtain a burn permit.

Arrests

Feb. 17

12:18 a.m.: Deputies received an anonymous tip that Ronnie Lynn Price Jr., of Sedalia, who had active felony warrants, was staying at a motel just south of Sedalia. Deputies and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force detectives arrested Price on outstanding warrants for stealing a controlled substance and stealing leased or rented property. While arresting him, deputies located a glass bong, glass pipes, digital scales, baggies, and a crystal substance. He was then placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia.

Arrests

Feb. 14

3:48 p.m.: Sean W. Cunningham, 38, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of felony resisting arrest, speeding, careless and imprudent driving and no valid license. Troopers also served two misdemeanor Pettis County warrants.

Feb. 15

11:46 p.m.: Kirstin R. Sargert, 26, of Raymore, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving while intoxicated and lane violation resulting in a vehicle crash.

Feb. 16

2:59 p.m.: Steven D. Mackey, 33, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Troopers also served a felony Henry County warrant.

Feb. 17

12:19 a.m.: Christopher A. Kuhlmann, 39, of Jamestown, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of felony driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, violation of ignition interlock restrictions, failure to register a motor vehicle and no insurance.
