This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 30

5:40 p.m.: William L. Roberson, 32, of Versailles, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license and having no proof of insurance. Officers responded to a vehicle accident in the 4400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. They checked both drivers’ information and found Roberson had a revoked license.

Jan. 31

5:30 a.m.: Christopher T. Nicholson, 33, of the 1200 block of McVey Road, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Nicholson for speeding in a 35-mph zone on West 16th Street between Thompson Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard. A computer check showed he had a suspended license.

Feb. 1

4:35 a.m.: Raymond G. Mitts, 46, of Cole Camp, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer observed Mitts fail to stop at a stop sign, and he conducted a traffic stop at Waterloo Road and Ewing Drive. A computer check revealed Mitts had a suspended Kansas license. He was reportedly aware of his suspended status.

Incidents

Jan. 31

3:30 p.m.: An officer took a report of a possible abuse case. The complainant reported possible abuse to a person in a Sedalia nursing facility. The officer completed the report for documentation and contacted the elder abuse hotline.

5:10 p.m.: A complainant came to the police station to report a subject he knew had taken pictures of his juvenile daughter without her permission and shared them with a group of men. At the time of the report, officers hadn’t contacted the subject who took the pictures.
