Police Reports Feb. 12

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Feb. 5

11:27 p.m.: Brayan Castro Izaguirre, 18, of the 1200 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and operator’s license required near the intersection of West 14th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. Officers observed a vehicle driving without its lights on. A traffic stop was conducted and during the investigation, it was found the driver did not have a driver’s license and was in possession of alcohol. He was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail and issued a municipal court summons.

Feb. 6

2:25 a.m.: Igor I. Sarioglo, 32, of La Monte, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and leaving the scene of an accident near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Warren Avenue. Officers responded to a business in the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a possible intoxicated subject. Prior to the officers’ arrival, the suspect left in his vehicle, collided with a road sign and abandoned the vehicle nearby. The suspect was later located and arrested.

Arrests

Feb. 8

5:33 p.m.: Fredrick T. Curry Jr., 38, of the 1200 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of synthetic narcotic, Schedule II narcotic to be kept in original container and possession of drug paraphernalia near the intersection of West 11th Street and South Harrison Avenue. While on patrol, an officer made contact with a male subject walking through the alley who said he was walking to a residence to visit a friend. The man’s name was given to dispatch, who reported he had two active warrants. During a search, a small baggie of methamphetamine was found along with pills and drug paraphernalia on his person.

10:01 p.m.: Mary A. Hale, 28, of the 500 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested on charges of third-degree felony domestic assault and fourth-degree domestic assault at her residence. Officers responded to the area for a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed Hale assaulted two female relatives. A Pettis County failure to appear warrant was also served. 

Feb. 9

2:09 a.m.: Rafael Getsemani Barragan Tapia, 18, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was issued a municipal court summons for possession of marijuana near the intersection of South Beacon Avenue and West Fourth Street. An officer observed a vehicle sitting in the middle of Beacon Avenue. The officer made contact with the driver and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and a plastic bag containing marijuana was found.

5:05 a.m.: Christopher Eugene Bartlett, 43, of the 300 block of East Cooper Street, was arrested on charges of third-degree felony domestic assault and armed criminal action in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue. Officers responded to a business in reference to a domestic assault. The victim stated she was tased by Bartlett, who is known to her, in the neck. After the investigation, Bartlett was arrested.

7:35 a.m.: Andrew LaMonte Marsh, 27, of the 300 block of East Cooper Street, was arrested on charges of second-degree felony assault and third-degree kidnapping in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue. Officers responded to the 300 block of West Seventh Street for a reported assault. The assault was found to have happened at a business in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue. Contact was made with the suspect, who was found to have active arrest warrants, two from Pettis County and one from the City of Sedalia. 

3:34 p.m.: Joseph F. Jones, 63, of the 2700 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license in the 2800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. 

10:11 p.m.: Glenn T.D. Grant, 34, of the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana near the intersection of South State Fair Boulevard and West Broadway Boulevard. A vehicle was stopped for speeding. A search revealed the driver had marijuana in his shoe.

11:53 p.m.: Cynthia Rose Wilson, 19, of the 28000 block of McGee Road, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Moniteau Avenue. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration. The passenger was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. More marijuana was found in the vehicle in the immediate area of the passenger. She was booked and released from the Pettis County Jail and issued a municipal court summons.

Feb. 10

1:35 a.m.: Gregory T. Clancy, 30, of Warrensburg, was issued a municipal court summons for destruction of non-city property in the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue. Officers responded to a business in reference to a disturbance. During the investigation it was discovered that the subject kicked a pane of glass in an interior door, breaking the glass. Estimated value was $250.

7:56 p.m.: Abone R. Madden, 31, of Knob Noster, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license near the intersection of West Main Street and South Limit Avenue. Officers stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation. The investigation revealed the driver had a revoked license and an active warrant out of Johnson County.

Feb. 11

3:56 a.m.: Dustin Arnold, 21, of the 600 block of West 16th Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and Heck Avenue for possession of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted and during an investigation at the scene, the driver was found in possession of marijuana.

Incidents

Feb. 8

9:39 p.m.: A 2000 Chevrolet Suburban was reported stolen from a residence in the 600 block of East 11th Street in the past two hours. It had been parked behind the residence with the keys in the vehicle. It is valued at approximately $300.

Feb. 10

11:15 a.m.: Deputies took a report of an assault in the Pettis County Jail. A charge of third-degree assault has been submitted to the Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

Arrests

Feb. 10

7:43 a.m.: Phillip Q. Starks, 29, of Centralia, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive in a single lane.

2:24 p.m.: Sean A. Smith, 28, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony receiving stolen property, felony unlawful possession of a firearm, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Troopers also served three felony warrants from Johnson County and one felony warrant from Jackson County.
