This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 15 

4:31 a.m.: Officers contacted an individual near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. The subject was found in possession of methamphetamine. Anthony R. Hill, 38, of the 1400 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

May 16

7:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of trespassing. Contact was made with the suspect and it was confirmed they had trespassed at the business before. Gary D. Spradley, 39, of the 2900 block of Clinton Road, was arrested for first-degree trespassing. 

May 17 

12:11 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 13th Street in reference to a weapon being shot from a vehicle. During the investigation the suspect was apprehended. Anthony B. Johnson, 36, of the 1000 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested for charges of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. 

2:39 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 100 block of Main Street in reference to a theft of a firearm. The complainant reported a male subject had taken a firearm from the business. Suspect information was obtained and they were arrested shortly after. Carmen L. Henke, 81, of the 1200 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested for stealing.  

10:24 p.m.: An officer was driving south on South Limit Avenue, approaching West Third Street, when they observed a black car going northbound at a high speed. The vehicle went into the outside lane of another vehicle. Police radar indicated the vehicle was going 77 mph in a 40 mph zone. The officer initiated a traffic stop just north of West Third Street and South Limit Avenue. Johnathon S. Griffin, 20, of the 1800 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested for speeding and vehicle to be driven carefully. 

May 18

1:56 a.m.: An officer observed a male unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with his hand on the gear shift. After knocking on the window a few times, he woke up. An investigation revealed the subject was intoxicated. Lucas R. Franklin, 35, of the 900 block of Westwood Drive, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. 

May 19

8:34 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having any license plates in the area of South Moniteau Avenue and West 17th Street. A computer check revealed the driver had an active warrant. Further investigation revealed she was also in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Renea E. Boone, 32, of the 1100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue, was arrested for the warrant and charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

May 20

2:36 a.m.: Officers responded to the area of West Morgan Street and North Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers saw two males physically fighting. As officers approached the suspects ran into nearby alleys. One suspect was caught and arrested. Daylon Parish, 18, of the 21000 block of Cloney Road, was arrested for failing to obey/resisting arrest and public peace disturbance. 

Incidents 

May 15

2:30 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of East Fourth Street for a possible domestic assault. The first suspect said she and the second suspect were in a verbal and physical argument on the front porch. The second suspect said after the argument on the porch, the first suspect hit him two times in the back and then he hit her in the face.

May 17 

10:12 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Osage Avenue in regards to a forgery report. The complainant informed officers that someone forged a company check five times totalling $4,763.05. 

10:43 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of stealing. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with an employee who said sometime between 8 p.m. May 15 and 9 a.m. May 16, someone had stolen $800 worth of tools from one of the company vehicles. There were no suspects at the time of the report. 

May 19 

9:17 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1400 block of Thompson Boulevard for an attempted break-in. Investigation revealed the lock and door frame had evidence of being tampered with. The complainant reported the incident had occurred between 6 p.m. May 18 and 8:30 a.m. May 19. There was no suspect information at the time of the report.

Arrests

May 17

1:40 p.m.: Dustin S. Heyer, 43, of Osceola, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and failure to use turn signal. 

May 18

2:20 a.m.: Kayla D. Moore, 23, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and failure to yield to oncoming vehicle. 

6:49 a.m.: Jake T. Wurschmidt, 21, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. 

6:49 a.m.: Adam J. Shike, 20, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for minor visibly intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and careless and imprudent driving. 

12:57 p.m.: Patrick J. Coleman, 51, of Batesville, Texas, was arrested in Morgan County for boating while intoxicated and failure to display ski flag while subject in the water. 

9:18 p.m.: Bruce E. Parnell, 35, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Morgan County for a lane violation and driving while intoxicated. 

May 19

2:32 a.m.: Montel D. Robinson, 23, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. 

8:49 p.m.: Garret P. Baquet, 24, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County for a lane violation and driving while intoxicated.
