This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 11

9:27 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of West Seventh Street and South Quincy Avenue in reference to a vehicle accident. A vehicle had collided with a parked vehicle with no injuries reported. Officers determined the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. Guillermo Yanez-Garcia, 33, of an unknown address, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. 

May 12 

7:26 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of East 10th Street and South Hancock Avenue for a moving violation. An investigation revealed the passenger was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Robert J. Sanches, 23, of the 600 block of East 10th Street, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

May 13

11:52 p.m.: An officer observed a vehicle traveling west on West Broadway Boulevard whose registered owner was suspended and had no plate lights. The car then pulled into the turn lane near West Carr Avenue and drove down the turn lane to South Barnett Avenue, heading south. As the officer conducted the traffic stop the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and stopped westbound in the eastbound lane. Jay A. Summers, 40, of the 1500 block of West Ninth Street, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. 

8:39 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Sixth Street and South Engineer Avenue for a license violation. The driver was found in possession of hydrocodone and had a revoked driver’s license. Trena W. Mcdonald, 38, of Warrensburg, was arrested for charges of possesion of a controlled substance, driving while suspended, and failure to register with the Department of Revenue. 

May 14 

12:48 a.m.: Officers were dispatched the 900 block of East Ninth Street for a vehicle accident. The caller said a pickup truck had struck a parked vehicle. Upon arrival officers discovered a white pickup had struck a parked boat. The driver was walking away from the vehicle, but was contacted in the immediate area. Brady A. Allred, 28, of the 900 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (drugs). 

4:06 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of West Seventh Street and South Harrison Avenue. Information was passed onto the officers that a possible disturbance had occurred and that a female had been drug into a house by her hair. Officers located the involved parties and conducted an investigation into the disturbance. Christina M. Clark, 36, of the 600 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested for felony third-degree assault. 

May 15 

7:38 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Seventh Street for a disturbance. It was determined an assault had taken place. Troy J. Daye, 47, of the 300 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested for felony third-degree assault. 

Incidents

May 15 

11:15 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1400 block of South Prospect Avenue for a report of a burglary. The caller said their house had been burglarized between 9:40 and 11 a.m. that day. It appeared the suspect had only stolen medication. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
