Nov. 5

12:40 p.m.: A rental business employee reported a suspect who had failed to return two cellphones worth $1,327.30. He also reported a suspect who hadn’t returned two TVs he rented, costing $3,314. An officer is submitting charges of failure to return rental property to the state prosecutor.

Nov. 6

11:20 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of East 13th Street for a report of theft. The victim said someone stole parts off of his 2000 Honda Civic engine sometime between midnight and 11 a.m. Tuesday. The victim estimated the total amount of the stolen parts had a value of $2,075.

Nov. 6

7:55 a.m.: A Sedalia resident reported someone stole his silver 2014 Ford F-150 from his garage. An investigation continues.

Arrests

Nov. 7

9:45 a.m.: Christopher D. Batson, 33, of Brighton, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and not wearing a seat belt.
