This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 21

10:48 p.m.: Ronald J. Hillig, 55, of the 19000 block of Maltsbarger Road, was arrested near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and Heck Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with the passenger side headlight out. A computer check revealed the driver, Hillig, had a revoked license.

Nov. 22

12:20 a.m.: Jeremiah Z. Clark, 37, of the 1300 block of Boonville Road, was arrested in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of forgery. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with improper registration. A computer check revealed the plates expired in 2018 but had 2020 tabs on them.

5:50 p.m.: Marlenna D. Lange, 51, of the 700 block of West 11th Street, was arrested at her residence on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two subjects. Officers spoke to the subjects and investigation revealed that one subject was in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia.

Incidents

Nov. 1

11:20 a.m.: An officer responded to Child Safe of Central Missouri to assist the Independence Police Department with an interview. A juvenile was interviewed who disclosed of inappropriate behavior toward her from a family member. The interview will be forwarded to the IPD.

Nov. 21

9:48 p.m.: A victim reported that several antique furniture items valued at approximately $3,100 had been stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of West Third Street. The victim provided a name for a suspect but contact had not been made with the suspect at the time of the report.

Nov. 22

11:13 p.m.: Officers responded to a traffic complaint on East Broadway Boulevard. The complainant followed a passenger car that had failed to stop for several traffic lights on Broadway to the parking lot of a business at Broadway and Kentucky Avenue. The caller reported the occupants parked the car and ran from the area. Officers eventually located the person reported to be the driver. After further investigation, a 16-year-old suspect of Sedalia was taken into custody and transported to SPD. Charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to stop for a red signal have been submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office and a referral was made to the Pettis County Juvenile Office for other charges. The juvenile was eventually released to a family member.

Nov. 23

1:17 p.m.: Jeremy Flashpohler, 42, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
