This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 9

1:40 p.m.: Tiffany Lynn Zullig, 26, of the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of stealing. An officer responded to a report of shoplifting. Asset protection employees at the store had already stopped Zullig. She reportedly said she stole several items totaling to $71.33, and the officer issued her a municipal court summons.

Nov. 10

1:05 p.m.: Shawn Balark Brown, 29, and Deandre K. Williams, 27, both of the 1300 block of Maple Lane, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. An officer conducted a vehicle check in the area of the Liberty Park Maintenance compound. While speaking with three occupants, he could smell the odor of marijuana. A probable cause search reportedly revealed marijuana and ecstasy.

Nov. 11

2:05 a.m.: Benjamin Franklin Hinsberger Jr., 32, of the 1200 block of 11th Street, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of East Sixth Street for two men fighting at the residence. They observed an intoxicated subject attempt to start a vehicle. The officers had the subject, Hinsberger, step out of the vehicle, and he reportedly attempted to walk and push away from them in an attempt to flee. The officers apprehended him and took him into custody.

8:50 a.m.: Dustin D. Dillon, 25, of the 1100 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested on charges of felony third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage. An officer responded to the 1100 block of South Park Avenue for a report of a domestic assault. The officer located Dillon and took him into custody. The complainant said Dillon punched her multiple times in the back of the head, and she had observable protrusions where she said he hit her. A witness on the scene confirmed the complainant’s account of the incident. Dillon reportedly said he also threw a brick at the complainant’s vehicle, which broke the window.

Nov. 10

7:35 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of Vermont Park for a report of gunshots. They determined gunfire had damaged a vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.

Nov. 11

10:05 a.m.: A complainant said someone forcefully entered her locked garage in the 200 block of South Prospect Avenue and stole items. She reported three JVC 110-watt speakers valued at $750 were stolen. Damage to the garage door should cost about $100. An officer received information on a suspect at the time of the report.

Nov. 10

1:45 a.m.: Anthony B. Johnson, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

6:20 p.m.: Michael E. Harrison, 43, of Blue Springs, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

Nov. 11

1:10 a.m.: Stacey M. Fitzgerald, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (clonazepam) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

1:50 a.m.: Brandon M. Naylor, 29, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, not having insurance and not wearing a seat belt.

3:30 a.m.: Ian Donals, 39, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, and not having insurance.

5:35 p.m.: William J. Wilson, 49, of Lincoln, and Beth J. Kidwell, 39, of Kansas City, were arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:15 p.m.: Joshua Reed, 34, of Mena, Arkansas, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
