This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

Oct. 17

9:55 a.m.: Marlenna D. Lange, 51, of the 400 block of East Third Street, was arrested on a charge of trespassing. An officer responded to the 400 block of East Third Street in reference to trespassing. The City of Sedalia has condemned the residence, and its occupants were required to vacate it by Oct. 16. The officer spoke with one of the occupants who hadn’t left the property and took her into custody.

Incidents

6:40 p.m.: Officers took a report in the police station lobby of a theft from a vehicle. The theft occurred between Saturday and Wednesday. The complainant estimated the value of the missing items to be about $1,381. The officers hadn’t identified any suspects at the time of the report.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Office

Incidents

Oct. 17

11:40 a.m.: Deputies took a report at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stealing complaint. The reporting party said rent money, prescription pills and a cellphone went missing from their home the night before. An investigation is ongoing.

Arrests

Oct. 16

1:25 p.m.: Jason E. Wilkinson, 29, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

2:35 p.m.: Brenda M. Balderas, 30, of Dallas, Texas, was arrested in Moniteau County on a charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 mph or more.

Oct. 18

9:55 a.m.: David L. Kidd, 32, of Kanawha, West Virginia, was arrested in Saline County on a felony charge of possession of marijuana.
