This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 11

9:35 p.m.: Tristan Dale Fizer, 21, of the 1600 block of South Vermont Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree domestic assault. Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Vermont Avenue in reference to a disturbance. They spoke with an uncooperative subject, Fizer, who appeared to be upset, as if he were in an argument. During the course of the investigation, Fizer reportedly assaulted the officers, so they placed him in custody at the Pettis County Jail. No injuries resulted from the incident.

Sept. 12

12:40 p.m.: Dallas L. Bashrum, 21, of Knob Noster, received a municipal court summons for a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Officers responded to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a hit-and-run accident. They met with a complainant, who said she was loading a child into her car when a vehicle backing next to her struck her door. The door struck her and caused a back injury. The striking driver reportedly left the scene without providing information. Officers later identified the driver as Bashrum and issued him a municipal court summons.

5:50 p.m.: Devin N. Smith, 27, of Lake Worth, Florida, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer witnessed a female driver in a car apparently arguing with a male driver in a truck. The officer spoke with the female driver, Smith, in the area of West Main Street and Dundee Avenue. He searched her information through dispatch and learned she had a suspended license. He arrested Smith and brought her to the Pettis County Jail, where she was later released to a family member because of a medical condition.

Incidents

Sept. 11

8:10 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court for a theft. The victim said someone entered her residence and stole her bearded dragon pet. The victim said she left her residence about 5 a.m., and when she came home about 9:15 a.m., her bearded dragon was gone.

Sept. 12

11:55 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of West Sixth Street in reference to a dumpster that had been damaged. The incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. that morning. The officer was able to obtain evidence showing the dumpster had been intentionally set on fire.

12:05 p.m.: A suspect called a business to take out a $1,200 loan. The suspect completed the application over the phone and came in to sign papers just before closing. The next day, the suspect came to the office to pick up the loan and spoke with the assistant manager to complete the process. The suspect presented identification, and the assistant manager noticed that the faces didn’t match. She also had gone to school with the person whose name was on the application, and the person in front of her wasn’t that subject. When she told the suspect the company couldn’t give the loan, the individual left. The loan company contacted the person whose name was on the application, and he confirmed he didn’t come in to the office, as he was at work during that time.

3:30 p.m.: A complainant came to the police station to report a firearm stolen from his vehicle. He said the gun went missing Aug. 25 when he left his vehicle unlocked near West 20th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. The complainant valued the gun between $300 and $400. The officer had no known suspects at the time of the report.

Sept. 12

1:40 p.m.: David H. Miller, 70, of Richmond, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
