This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 31

7:25 p.m.: Pedro Ramirez Jr., 18, of the 700 block of South State Fair Boulevard, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of identity theft. An officer responded to Ramirez’s residence to perform a warrant check. He spoke with Rodriguez, who reportedly lied about his identity. The officer ultimately identified him and served a Sedalia municipal warrant for failure to appear. He took Rodriguez into custody on the warrant and an added charge of identity theft.

Sept. 1

10:25 a.m.: James Russell Hood, 56, of the 30000 block of Route U, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Hood’s vehicle at East 18th Street and South Ohio Avenue for having expired license plates. During the stop, he learned Hood had a suspended license and a Pettis County failure to appear warrant.

2 p.m.: Maxwell Smith, 19, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor stealing. An officer responded to a business in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard to investigate a theft. Dispatch advised two male suspects had left the business with $473.96 worth of auto parts. A short time later, officers located both suspects and took them into custody.

Sept. 2

8:50 a.m.: Bryan A. McGraw, 25, of the 900 block of Winchester Drive, was arrested on a charge of first-degree trespassing. An officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Deseret Drive for a report of trespassing. The caller said he had told his daughter’s boyfriend to leave, but he was refusing to do so. The officer made contact with the suspect, McGraw, in the area of West 10th Street and Winchester Drive and placed him under arrest.

10:35 a.m.: Jesse W. Smith, 44, of Ionia, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Smith’s vehicle for disobeying a stop sign at South Grand Avenue and West 24th Street. Dispatch advised the officer that Smith had a suspended license.

Incidents

Aug. 31

8:25 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at South Park Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard. A computer check through dispatch showed the driver had a suspended license. The officer issued the driver a citation and is sending the case to a court prosecutor for review.

Aug. 31

9:50 a.m.: Mark A. Garrison, 45, of Jefferson City, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, not having insurance, not wearing a seat belt and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

7:20 p.m.: Gerald L. Gregg, 61, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash.

Sept. 1

12:50 a.m.: Rodney W. Raley, 51, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

1:10 a.m.: Matthew R. Tatham, 36, of Kansas City, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated, lane violation and not having insurance.

2:10 a.m.: Madison N. Cannon, 21, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

7:35 a.m.: Dennis E. Spalding, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

3:30 p.m.: Michael D. Iman, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of methamphetamine and displaying the license plates of another person.

8:20 p.m.: Jeffery J. Stiffler, 59, of Pleasant Hill, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of boating while intoxicated.

Sept. 2

6:35 p.m.: Jessica N. Troub, 29, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash.

Sept. 3

9:50 a.m.: Paul S. Kesner, 54, of Forsyth, Georgia, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

10:20 a.m.: Jose R. Arellanes Ojeda, 35, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving without a valid license, speeding and following too close.
