Saturday, July 27, at 4:05 a.m. a Pettis County deputy at Bothwell Regional Health Center on an unrelated matter overheard several people enter the ER saying one of them had been shot. An investigation was initiated.
Shortly before their arrival one adult and four juveniles were traveling in a Honda Accord southbound on South New York Ave. near E 24th St. when a vehicle fell in behind. The occupants of the vehicle fired several rounds at the Honda and one of those rounds struck a 15-year-old subject in the leg as they ducked down in the rear seat of the Honda. That subject was treated at Bothwell.
