A strange shooting in 1915 Sedalia

On July 1, 1915, the Sedalia Weekly Democrat reported that Damon Porter, vice-president of Porter Real Estate at 112 W. Fourth St., was walking from his business to his home at 420 S. Osage Ave. at about 10 a.m. on Thursday to bring his wife Edith the morning St. Louis newspaper when he was shot in the back.
