B-2 damaged in emergency landing


WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE — Whiteman Air Force Base’s B-2 stealth bomber suffered damage after making an emergency landing early Tuesday morning, Sept. 14.

The base states that at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sept. 14, the U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit experienced an in-flight malfunction during a routine training mission and was damaged on the runway at the base after an emergency landing.

According to the base, there were no personnel injuries and no fire associated with the landing. 

The base states the incident is under investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
