Broadway/Ninth Street alley to close for work

Posted

Evergy has notified the City of Sedalia that from midnight to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 17, the alley between East Broadway Boulevard and East Ninth Street will be closed from South Ingram Avenue to South Engineer Avenue to allow for electric utility line work.

As a result of this work, the signal lights at East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue are expected to be set to all way flashing red, requiring all traffic to stop at the intersection. Travelers may want to plan additional time to reach their destinations or use an alternate route during this period to avoid any delays.

Residents and businesses routinely using the alley to park, to access back yard parking or garages off the alley will want to use street parking during the planned work period to ensure their ability to immediately move their vehicles while Evergy has the alleyway blocked for electric utility line replacement.

This work is weather and equipment dependent and may be affected by inclement weather or equipment breakdowns.
