Green Ridge Presbyterian Church will host an ice cream social from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 25. There will be homemade ice cream, hot dogs, chili dogs. dessert and a drink for a freewill offering. At 6 p.m. there will be a baked goods auction.
New York Best Selling author, Joel Richardson will be at Liberty Life Center Church this Sunday, Aug. 25 for three services. Richardson is New York Times bestselling author, a film maker, an international speaker and teacher, and an advocate for the underground church in the Middle East. His work has been featured on numerous radio, television, and news outlets.
He will be bringing three special messages. At 9:30 a.m. during the nurture hours, at 10:30 a.m. during morning worship service, and at a special 6 p.m. evening service. The message at 10:30 a.m. will be "Standing in Solidarity with Israel." His message in the evening will be "Apocalyptic Evangelism."
Childcare will be provided in morning services and a book table available. A love offering for his ministry will be received at the 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. service.

Church Women United will meet Monday, Aug. 26, at Community of Christ Church, 2000 S. Ingram Ave. Social time is at 11:30 a.m., with the meeting at noon. Calvary Episcopal Church will have the Devotional and opening prayer.

The donation for the August meeting will be for United Way of Pettis County, represented by Executive Director Rachelle Simon. United Way is focused on helping people learn how to cook a healthy meal. At this time they are working specifically on preparing heart healthy meals. Listed are some of the needed kitchen items: hot pads, dish towels, any kitchen utensils such as, cutting boards, knives, mixing bowls, etc.
