Christ Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs will celebrate its 125th anniversary with an ice cream social from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the church located one mile north of I-70 on state Route EE in Sweet Springs.
Everyone is invited to attend the event and are welcome to join the congregation on any Sunday for regular services at 10:15 a.m.
Brauersville Immanuel Lutheran Church will be celebrating its 175th anniversary on Sept. 15. The church is located 3.5 miles east of Cole Camp on state Route AD. The congregation is one of the oldest congregations in the ELCA Central Synod and is presently served by Pastor Eugene Mall.
There will be a celebration service beginning with an informal hymn sung outside at 10 a.m., followed by a fellowship lunch. There will be pictures, displays or memorabilia, and a time for everyone to reminisce and share stories. Two quilts will be raffled with proceeds going to Lutheran World Relief. There will be music at 1:30 p.m. in the church.
