The Missouri Department of Transportation continues to urge the public to remain off the road on Monday as crews battle the winter weather and its impacts.
Wind gusts are expected to continue into Monday, Jan. 6., blowing snow on the roadway.
“Motorists in the areas of snow and ice accumulation cannot let their guards down once this precipitation ends,” said MoDOT Chief Safety and Operations Officer Becky Allmeroth. “It’s going to take our crews most of Monday to get major routes in these impacted areas back to good condition, so we need people to continue to avoid traveling.”
The City of Sedalia’s snow routes will remain into effect through at least 6 p.m. Monday.
Sedalia 200 has called off its certified work day.
Sacred Heart School has canceled all professional development, childcare and activities.
Bothwell Regional Health Center will delay opening until 10 a.m. Monday. Patients with early-morning appointments will be notified and rescheduled. Conditions will be reevaluated for any further decisions.
All State Fair Community College locations will shift to remote operations.
The Sedalia Municipal Building will delay opening until 10 a.m.
The Pettis County Clerk/Election Authority, Assessor’s Office, Collector’s Office, County Treasurer and Recorder of Deeds Office will be closed.
Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri will not host a drop-in day.
The Pettis County R-V School District has canceled its PD work day.
The Pettis County R-XII School District has canceled its teacher workday.
The Green Ridge R-8 School District has canceled its PD work day.
The Smithton R-VI School District has canceled all events.
The Sedalia Senior Center will be closed.
The Pettis County Health Center will be closed.
Whiteman Air Force Base is operating under mission essential through at least Monday. The next update is expected Monday morning.
The University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg will be closed. The majority of its facilities were already closed for winter break with limited hours until Jan. 12.
