Pettis County added eight cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 5,209, according to the Pettis County Health Center.
According to the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force briefing issued Monday, this is the first week without a double-digit increase in cases in more than a year.
Two individuals are hospitalized at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
According to the briefing, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services website is reporting Pettis County has a positivity rate of 1.9% for the past seven days, with PCR testing with 210 PCR tests and 119 antigen tests in the past seven days. There were 276 tests reporting both PCR and antigen with 13 positives and 263 negatives. For the month of May, the positivity rate was 4.87 with 62 positive cases and 1,210 negative cases, the briefing states. The rate per 100,000 was 146.44.
DHSS is offering free in-home testing. An individual may request test kits at health.mo.gov. Two test kits, good for six months, will be mailed to the requestor with a postage-paid envelope to return the sample.
Pettis County has vaccinated approximately 30% of the population with at least one dose. According to the state website, 12,691 Pettis County residents have received one dose and 11,243 have completed the two-dose series, which is approximately 26.6% of the population. Pettis County is falling behind the state rate of 42.3% with at least one dose and 35.4% fully vaccinated.
According to the briefing, the state is reporting 52.6% of the population over 18 has at least one dose of vaccine and 44.8% are fully vaccinated. For Pettis County, 39.8% of the population 18 and older has at least one dose and 35.2% are fully vaccinated.
The FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccine for everyone 12 years of age and older; anyone younger than 18 must have a parent present to sign.
The Pettis County Health Center will have regular walk-in clinics on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. First doses will be available as well as second doses for those unable to make their second dose appointment. To register, call 660-827-1130, but appointments are not required.
Bothwell will offer the following vaccine clinics: Wednesday, June 9, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bothwell Internal Medicine (dose 1 and 2), Wednesday, June 9, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bothwell Internal Medicine, and Saturday, June 12, 9 to 11 a.m. at Bothwell Healing Arts Center (dose 1 and 2). Johnson & Johnson is available for people 18 and older.
People may walk in at any event; however, appointments are encouraged by calling 660-829-8888 or scheduling in Bothwell’s patient portal, MyBothwellHealth at www.brhc.org/portal or in the MHealth app. Visit www.brhc.org/vaccine for all clinic dates. There is no charge for the vaccine.
COVID-19 testing is available at the Bothwell Walk-In Clinic located on the first floor of the Healing Arts Center. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Katy Trail Community Health is testing daily at 816 Westwood Drive from 8 a.m. to noon. Fifteen-minute rapid testing is available or for those that are traveling Katy Trail will do laboratory testing with results within 48 hours. There is no charge for either type of testing.
Katy Trail is vaccinating all patients. Katy Trail will be vaccinating in the community from 8 a.m. to noon Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at 816 Westwood Drive. There is no charge for the vaccine. Call 877-733-5824 or visit www.katytrailcommunityhealth.org.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported a seven-day total of 1,591 confirmed cases for an average of 227 per day. There were a total of six deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Missouri during the last seven days, representing an average of one death per day. There were 61,343 vaccines administered in the last seven days in Missouri for an average of 8,763 per day.
