Carrollton man seriously injured in Benton crash
Robert Y. McDowell, 57, of Carrollton, was seriously injured at 2 p.m. Wednesday in a Benton County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, McDowell was driving south on U.S. 65 just south of Route T when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, traveled up an embankment and became airborne. The vehicle overturned, striking a guardrail and came to rest on its top.
McDowell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia. A 6-year-old male who was wearing a seat belt, also from Carrollton, was transported with minor injuries by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
