Two men injured in Benton accident

Harold D. James, 71, of Deepwater, received moderate injuries and Lowell R. Swisher, 71, of Warsaw, received serious injuries at 1:15 p.m. Friday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2014 Ford F-150 driven west on state Route 7 was struck by a 2008 Ford Escape driven by Swisher, who failed to yield. 

Both men were wearing a seat belt. James was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Swisher was transported by LifeFlight Eagle to University Hospital in Columbia.

Blue Springs man injured in Saline accident

Riley D. Burris, 18, of Blue Springs, received moderate injuries at 2:20 a.m. Monday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Burris was driving west on I-70 in a 2008 Dodge Avenger when he lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway.

Burris, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence by Sweet Springs Ambulance District.
