Sedalia man killed in Pettis motorcycle accident

Michael L. Shepherd, 42, of Sedalia, was killed at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shepherd was driving west on Maltsbarger Road west of U.S. 65 on a 2009 Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway into a ditch, and hit a fence post.

Shepherd was pronounced dead by Dr. Kondur at Bothwell Regional Health Center and released to the Pettis County coroner. It is unknown if he was wearing a helmet.

Marshall man hurt in Saline accident

Larry P. Aulgur, 73, of Marshall, received minor injuries at 11:05 a.m. in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Aulgur was driving west on state Route 240 in a 2016 Ram 1500 when he suffered a medical condition, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a fence and a utility pole guidewire. The vehicle then traveled through a cornfield into a ditch.

Aulgur, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by Slater Ambulance District to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
