California man in serious condition Moniteau accident

Paul L. Ransdell, 55, of California, sustained serious injuries at 5:12 p.m. Monday in a Moniteau County accident

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2022 Ford F250 driven by Matthew J. Reed, 36, of California, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 at Business 50 junction when he attempted to negotiate a left turn and drove into the path of westbound Gabrielle J. Fields, 22, of California, in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. Ransdell was an occupant in the Chevrolet. Cargo from the F250 struck the front of a 2020 Ford Transit 250 driven by Tayler R. Bonecutter, 26, of California.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt. Ransdell was transported via Mid-Mo Ambulance District to St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.

Kansas City man injured in Morgan accident

Kenneth A. Smith, 61, of Kansas City, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries 12:47 a.m. Monday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Smith was driving west on U.S. Highway 50 near Lipton Road in a 2005 Dodge Neon when he went off the right side of the road, struck a concrete culvert, and overturned. 

It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. He was transported by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
