One injured and arrested in motorcycle crash
A man was injured in a crash at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, William D. McAllen, 38, of Bates City, was driving southbound on state Route 131 at Northwest 1000 Court when his vehicle traveled onto the right shoulder of the roadway. McAllen overcorrected and his vehicle then traveled off the left side of the roadway.
McAllen suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City by Johnson County Ambulance District.
McAllen was arrested at 7:22 p.m. in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated.
La Monte man dies of medical emergency
A La Monte man died after having a medical emergency while driving at 6:45 a.m. Thursday on state Route HH in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Charles W. Von Holten, 78, of La Monte, was driving eastbound on state Route HH, west of Smith Road, when he suffered a fatal medical emergency. His vehicle then traveled off the left side of the roadway before striking a fence and several trees before coming to a rest.
Von Holten was pronounced deceased by Deputy Coroner Brian Morley at 8:43 a.m.
