Warsaw woman in serious condition after Benton accident

Emma E. Collister, 82, of Warsaw, sustained serious injuries at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in a Benton County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac driven east on U.S. Highway 65 by Roy W. Burnfin, 90, of Warsaw failed to yield and pulled into the path of a northbound 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Collister. After the initial impact, her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a guardrail.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Collister was transported by Lifeflight Eagle Air Ambulance to Research Hospital in Kansas City. 

Knob Noster woman hurt in Johnson accident

Julie M. Kern, 58, of Knob Noster sustained minor injuries at 1:09 p.m. Tuesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kern was driving a 2017 Dodge Journey west on state Route Y, east of state Route D, when she traveled off the roadway, struck an embankment, and rotated off the roadway into a ditch.

Kern was wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by Johnson County Ambulance District.
