Glasgow man in serious condition after Saline County accident

Martin O. Nevels, 23, of Glasgow, sustained serious injuries at 6:15 a.m. Saturday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Nevels was driving a 2009 Lincoln MKZ east on Route 240, east of Sparrow Trail, when he traveled off the north side of the road, struck the ground, overturned, and was ejected.

Nevels was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

Four injured in Saline County wreck

A 16-year-old male from Sweet Springs and Brittany J. Perkins, 33, of Versailles, both sustained moderate injuries, David B. Borgstadt, 35, of Warrensburg, sustained serious injuries, and Michelle R. Cook, 42, of Alma, sustained minor injuries at 9:21 p.m. Friday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cook was driving a 2016 Ford Edge, attempted to make a left turn onto U.S. Highway 65, and traveled into the path of a southbound 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Borgstadt.

Only Cook was wearing a seat belt. She was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by private vehicle. The juvenile and Perkins were transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital by EMS, and Borgstadt was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by air ambulance.
