Lee's Summit man killed in Saline accident
Dale A. Montgomery, 79, of Lee's Summit, was killed and Thomas J. Mumm, 73, of Lee’s Summit, suffered moderate injuries at 6:32 p.m. Thursday in a Saline County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Montgomery was driving a 2007 Ford Ranger west on I-70 at U.S. Highway 65 when he slid off the right side of the roadway. His vehicle struck the guardrail and overturned onto the passenger side.
Montgomery was pronounced dead by Saline County paramedic Wade Kelling. Mumm was transported by Saline County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.
