Colorado man in serious condition after Benton accident

Josiah A. Snelgrove, 38, of Nevada City, California, sustained serious injuries at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday in a Benton County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Snelgrove was driving east on Lost Valley Road in a 2006 GMC when he began skidding, crossed the roadway, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, striking a telephone box.

Snelgrove was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Life Flight.

He was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash. He was released for medical care.

Fortuna woman hurt in Morgan accident

Shelby L. Savage, 29, of Fortuna, sustained minor injuries at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2020 Ford Escape driven by Savage east on state Route 52 stopped suddenly for a deer and was struck in the rear by a 2010 Toyota Highlander driven by Noah C. Calton, 38, of Versailles.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Savage was transported by ambulance to Saint Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.
