Knob Noster man seriously injured

A Knob Noster man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jesse L. Knaus, 32, was driving a dump truck east on state Route V, east of Northwest 251st Road, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the road, and crossed the center line. The vehicle then traveled off the left side of the road, struck a tree and became airborne. The vehicle then struck a culvert, overturned, and came to rest after striking another section of the culvert.

Knaus, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Two hurt in Johnson crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:27 p.m. Thursday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Justin T. Bunting, 37, of Warrensburg, was driving south on state Route 13, a quarter-mile north of Northeast 700 Road, as he passed three vehicles. Bunting’s vehicle struck a northbound vehicle driven by Derrick G. Krieger, 52, of Higginsville, head-on.

Bunting suffered serious injuries and was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Krieger suffered moderate injuries and was taken by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Reports indicate both men were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
