Deputy injured in Saline accident accident
Caitlin M. Clements, 22, of Miami, Missouri, received moderate injuries at 4:06 a.m. Thursday in a Saline County accident
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the deputy was driving west on U.S. 65 at Jewel Avenue in a 2019 Ford Explorer en route to a crash on Interstate 70 traveling with its emergency lights and siren activated. The deputy lost control, swerving toward the ditch on the right side of the road. The deputy overcorrected to the left, which caused the vehicle to lose traction and travel off the right side of the roadway, impacting the ditch on its right side, which caused it to roll several times.
The deputy was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by Saline County Ambulance District.
