Two women injured, one in serious condition after Benton accident

Sarah C. Edwards, 36, of Lincoln, is in serious condition and Dorothy L. Day, 56, of Warsaw, sustained moderate injuries at 9:10 a.m. Friday in a Benton County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Day north on U.S. Highway 65 slowed to make a right turn and was struck in the rear by a 2015 Honda CRV driven by Edwards.

Both women were wearing seat belts and were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center. 

Two from Windsor killed in Henry accident

Hanna M. Campbell, 32, and Christopher S. McCartney, 38, both of Windsor, were killed at midnight Saturday in a Henry County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Courtney was driving a 2006 Chevrolet East on West Main Street in Calhoun when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

McCartney and Campbell were both pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County Coroner D. Sisk. Campbell was wearing a seat belt, it is unknown if McCartney was. 

Clinton man hurt in Henry accident

Jordan A. Johnson, 29, of Clinton, sustained minor injuries at 4:35 p.m. Sunday in a Henry County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2021 Ram driven by Thomas E. Bonderer, 52, of Winston, failed to yield to a 1999 Pontiac driven by Johnson west on state Route C at state Route V, while turning.

Johnson was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by personal vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Bonderer was wearing a seat belt.

Kansas City man hurt in Johnson accident

Jesse E. Delaney, 40, of Kansas City, sustained minor injuries at 9:58 p.m. Friday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, an unknown was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 and County Road NE 501 in a 2010 Infiniti G37 while fleeing a trooper for misdemeanor traffic charges. The driver attempted to turn right onto NE 501 road but was traveling too fast, and traveled off the right side of U.S. 50, sideswiped a stop sign, impacted an embankment, and became airborne. The vehicle continued southbound on NE 501 Road, lost control, traveled off the right side of the road, and came to rest in the grass. 

Delaney, an occupant in the vehicle, was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by Johnson County Ambulance District. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. 

Sedalia man injured in Morgan accident 

Scott J. Townsend, 35, of Sedalia, sustained moderate injuries at 10:19 a.m. Friday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Townsend was driving a 2014 Kenworth North on state Route 135 near Ehlers Road when he crossed the centerline, overcorrected, and traveled off the right edge of the roadway. He overcorrected again and traveled off the left side of the roadway, impacting a ditch.

He was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Mid-Mo Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia.
