Two injured in Benton County crash

Two Warsaw residents sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 4:50 p.m. Friday, March 10 in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Peggy D. Cassaday, 66, was driving a 2006 Ford Escape west on Route MM at Clearwater Road as John R. Hatch, 66, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe east on MM. Hatch attempted to turn left onto Clearwater Road and turned into the path of Cassaday’s vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Cassaday was taken by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. Hatch was taken by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia.

Odessa woman seriously injured in Johnson wreck

Two Odessa women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, March 11 in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kay S. Hickman, 58, was driving a 2011 Dodge Charger in the left lane and Lisa L. Gass, 65, was driving a 2013 Kia Soul in the right lane. Both were eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 west of Northeast 801 Road. Hickman attempted to pass Gass when Gass attempted to enter the median crossover. Hickman’s vehicle struck the left side of Gass’s vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Gass sustained serious injuries and was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. Hickman sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Lincoln man seriously injured in Benton crash

A Lincoln man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 2:08 p.m. Sunday, March 12 in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cameron M. Rogers, 19, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet south on U.S. Highway 65’s southbound exit ramp to Main Street when he failed to realize he was traveling on an exit-only lane. His vehicle skidded off the right side of the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned.

Rogers, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia.
