Warsaw man killed in Benton crash 

A Warsaw man was killed in a two-car accident at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Tara Sanders, 30, of Lincoln, was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry south on state Route 7 when a northbound 2019 Ford 350 driven by Chantal L. Brewster, 57, of Warsaw, began a left turn onto Commercial Street at MO-7. Sanders’ vehicle struck the Ford truck.

A passenger in Sanders’ vehicle, 79-year-old Charles L. Stranathan, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Benton County coroner. He was not wearing a safety device.

Woman injured in Johnson accident 

A Chilhowee woman received minor injuries in an accident at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Belinda Watson, 51, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze east on Division Road west of Southwest 101 Road when she swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. Her vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck an embankment. 

She was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. Watson was wearing a seat belt.

Holden man arrested for DWI

A Holden man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after an accident at 4:45 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Glenn D. Rogers, 57, was riding a 2020 Taotao moped traveling north on Northwest 325 Road west of Northwest 1261 Road when he failed to negotiate a 90-degree curve. His vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. 

He was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence with moderate injuries. He was not using a safety device.

According to an MSHP arrest report, Rogers was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident.

Warrensburg man seriously injured 

A Warrensburg man received serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 5:45 a.m. Monday in Johnson County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Edward A. Swisher, 63, was a pedestrian on North McGuire Street south of East Market Street when he was struck by a southbound 2015 Nissan Sentra driven by Jaquenette J. Culver, 61, of Warrensburg. 

Swisher was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
