Three hurt in Johnson accident

Trisha L. Enarson, 47, of Knob Noster, was seriously injured, Michael W. Ford, 52, of Knob Noster, was also seriously injured, and Richard G. Younce, 63, of Warrensburg, received minor injuries at 12:52 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ford was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee east on Route BB west of Southwest 21st Street. An unknown westbound vehicle in the wrong lane caused Ford to swerve to avoid a head-on collision and travel off the roadway, striking a ditch, overturning and striking a tree.

None of the occupants were wearing seat belts. Enarson was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Ford was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, and Younce refused transport to the hospital.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
