Warsaw man drowns in Town Branch creek

Edward J. Larrison, 58, of Warsaw, drowned at 12:01 a.m. Monday in Benton County’s Town Branch creek. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Larrison was located floating in the creek and pronounced dead on the scene by Benton County Medical Examiner Weston Miller. His body was released to the Benton County Medical Examiner. 

Two fall overboard, one drowns in Truman Lake accident

Arthur H. Hey, 50, of Fenton, drowned at 3:55 p.m. Monday on Truman Lake in Benton County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Arthur Hey stood up in a 2010 Bass Tracker 175 for an unknown reason and fell overboard. Attempts to rescue him were unsuccessful and his body was located a short time later. 

He was pronounced dead by Benton County Medical Examiner Weston Miller at the Truman State Park Marina boat ramp. He was wearing a life preserver. Martha Hey, who was wearing a life preserver as well, was uninjured.

Four Seasons women killed in Morgan accident

Karen C. Overmiller, 70, of Four Seasons, was killed and Loretta J. Needham, 80, of Eldon, was left with serious injuries at 10 a.m. Monday in a Morgan County four-vehicle accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Overmiller was driving a 2019 Subaru Ascent east on U.S. 50 at state Route 5 north when she approached a 2013 Honda Pilot driven by Jay A. Super, 42, of Gravois Mills, from the rear, abruptly crossed the center line and sideswiped the Honda, then struck a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by James C. Perkins, 77, of Union, who was westbound. The Subaru continued on and struck a 2006 Buick Rainier driven by Loretta J. Needham, 80, of Eldon. 

Overmiller, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Needham, who was also wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia. The other drivers were also wearing a seat belt.
