Two from Smithville hurt in Johnson accident
Luke D. Vollenweider, 22, of Smithville, received moderate injuries at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Vollenweider was driving west on U.S. 50 east of County Road Northwest 1971 in a 2013 Hyundai. Nicolas H. Dunn, 31, of Chilhowee, was also westbound in a 2005 Chevrolet and attempted to make a right turn. The Hyundai then struck the Chevrolet.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Vollenweider was transported to Lee's Summit Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance District.
