Two Sedalia women injured in Johnson accident

Lisa L. Morris, 35, of Sedalia, received minor injuries, and Carolyn E. Newbill, 40, of Sedalia, received moderate injuries at 5:25 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Morris was driving a 2007 Acura east on U.S. Highway 50 near state Route D when she overtook and struck Newbill who was driving a 2015 Dodge east.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Morris was treated at the scene while Newbill was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. 

Knob Noster woman injured in Johnson accident

Kathy L. Lyons, 51, of Knob Noster, sustained moderate injuries at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Lyons was driving north on state Route D at U.S. Highway 50 in a 2015 Chevrolet when she failed to stop at a stop sign while avoiding an animal in the roadway and traveled off the road striking a ditch.

Lyons was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Marshall man in serious condition after Pettis crash

Ryan R. Costa, 31, of Marshall, sustained serious injuries at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday in a Pettis County crash.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Costco was driving south on U.S. Highway 65 south of Georgetown Road in a 2005 Buick Lacrosse when he traveled off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and was ejected.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by Life Flight to University Hospital In Columbia.
