Three injured in Pettis accident

Sophia S. Oleynic, 23, of Green Ridge, and Tylor G. Washington, 22, of Sedalia, were both seriously injured, and a 3-year-old boy from Sedalia was moderately injured at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in a Pettis County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Ford driven by Washington south on state Route B, just north of Ragar Road, was passing another vehicle while traveling southbound in northbound lanes and struck a 2018 Acura driven by Oleynic.

It is unknown if Washington was wearing a seat belt; he was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by MU Air Ambulance. The 3-year-old was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to University Hospital and he was not reportedly restrained. Oleynik was wearing a seat belt and was transported by PCAD to University Hospital as well. 

Washington was arrested for driving while intoxicated, improper passing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Sedalia woman injured in Pettis accident

Gloria E. Carrillo, 59, of Sedalia, sustained moderate injuries at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol, Carillo was driving a 2006 Honda northwest in the 19000 block of Whitfield Road when she swerved to miss debris in the roadway, went off the roadway, and struck the ditch.

It is unknown if she was wearing a seat belt. She was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County Ambulance District.
