Garden City man injured in Johnson motorcycle accident

Ethan K. Arthurs, 20, of Garden City, sustained moderate injuries at 9:44 p.m. Sunday in a Johnson County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Arthurs was driving north on Route 13 south of SW 910 Road on a 2020 Harley-Davidson when he struck a pothole and lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject him. He was wearing a helmet and was transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. 

Kansas City woman hurt in Morgan accident

Karla M. Young, 33, of Kansas City, sustained minor injuries at 9:05 a.m. Saturday in a Morgan County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Young was traveling east on U.S. Highway 50 near Old Route 50 in a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse as a 2006 Lincoln Town Car driven by Benjamin P. Sherr, 86, of Sedalia, was westbound on Hwy 50.

Sherr lost traction on wet pavement and the vehicle began to skid, crossing the centerline of the roadway and colliding with Young’s vehicle.

Sherr was wearing a seat belt. Young was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Mid-MO Ambulance District. 

Texas man in serious condition after Saline accident

Thomas L. Smith, 55, of Corpus Christi, Texas, sustained serious injuries at 8:50 a.m. Friday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Smith was driving north on the southbound U.S. 65 ramp to eastbound I-70 in a 2020 International when he traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed over U.S. 65 and struck a bridge post. 

He was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Saline County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia.
