Former Sedalian graduates from Mayo Clinic

On June 19, Jacob K. Dey, MD, successfully completed the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. 
It is an intensive five-year residency that prepares surgeons for either academic or private practice in Otology, Rhinology, Laryngology, Pediatric Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Trauma, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Oncology and Sleep Surgery. 
In July, Dey will begin a one-year Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This will complete his training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dey attended Sacred Heart High School in Sedalia, graduating in 2007. In 2011, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Biological Sciences. In 2016, he graduated as a medical doctor from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has authored and co-authored numerous medical articles in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. 
He is the son of Tom and Charity Dey, of Bahner, and the husband of Alyssa (Hanlon) Dey, originally from Sedalia, who is now a labor and delivery nurse at Mayo Clinic.
